February 3, 2002
This special 90-minute episode aired in two parts on Super Bowl Sunday, 2002.
The six Playmates met Joe on a downtown street to face their first stunt. Ten stories above them, stretched between two buildings was a tightrope. Dangling above the tightrope were other ropes, to be used as "handles." The Playmates would have to walk the tightrope across the busy street below and the four that could do it in the best time would advance. Julie (Playmate of the Year, 1995) was up first. She took it slow and came in at just over four minutes. Nicole (Miss January 2002) took it even slower and made it in six minutes and forty-one seconds. The one person Julie saw as competition, Angel (Miss March 1996), beat Julie's time with her fast-paced three-minute and twenty-three second walk. With three players remaining, Julie and Nicole had the most to lose.
Stacy (Playmate of the Year, 1996) surprised everyone with her speed and agility and made it across the precarious tightrope in two minutes and sixteen seconds! Her great time secured her advancement to day two. Lauren (Miss February 2001), a college cheerleader, left Stacy in the dust with an amazing time of just under two minutes! With Lauren and Stacy automatically advancing, Nicole was eliminated. Julie knew that if Priscilla beat her time, she was next to go home. Despite narrowly escaping a fall, Priscilla made it across in three minutes and thirty seconds. Julie was out.
A deserted Western town greeted the four remaining Playmates as they sauntered in on day two. One might call their stunt Fear Factor Fruit Flies. In a Plexiglas box a dozen strawberries hung delicately from strings. Each Playmate would have to stick their head in the box and eat as many strawberries as possible in two minutes. If they ate them all in the allotted time, they would automatically advance. Oh, but they'd be sharing the small enclosure with thousands of pesky flies! Priscilla set the pace by going first and polishing off all the strawberries in under two minutes. The other three Playmates followed her lead and all the girls advanced (but not before eating a few mouthfuls of flies!).
It was a cold, dark night when the four remaining players arrived at a huge, outdoor tank. The tank was filled with icy cold water and covered with a Plexiglas. Joe explained that the idea was to simulate being trapped under a frozen lake, or icy surface. A small hole atop the tank was the only entry/exit point. Each layer below was also separated by a clear, sturdy material and accessible through a small hole. Playmates would have to dive into the water and retrieve glowsticks at each level. The easily accessible red glowsticks were worth 10 points each, while the green glowsticks at the bottom level were worth 100 points each. The Playmate with the most points would take home the cash. Angel was up first. She wanted the money to help her mom find a new place to live. With his breath visible in the chilly night air, Joe told Angel to go for it - and she did. She powered down to the second level, collecting red and green glowsticks along the way; however, she became disoriented and could not find the hole in the "ice" to resurface. She had to be guided out by safety divers - and risked going home if any of the other girls completed the stunt. Her odds of winning increased when both Stacy and Priscilla quit because the water was too cold! Lauren, however, was determined to win. She braved the water and retrieved the one glowstick she needed to win; however, she almost couldn't find her way back up. With air and time running out, Lauren somehow managed to focus and make it back up to Joe - to claim her fifty-thousand-dollar prize!
