Fear Factor Episode 213
Original airdate: April 29, 2002
The picturesque seaside location glistened in the afternoon sun as three sets of twins arrived for a special Twins Edition of Fear Factor. The first stunt required the twins to work as teams. The siblings would stand on a platform suspended 100-feet above the crashing sea below. As the platform teeter-tottered up and down, the twins had to gather as many flags as possible from the surrounding edges of the platform. Balance, timing and teamwork were crucial as one team would definitely be eliminated due to either lowest time or least amount of flags. First up were North Carolina brothers Larry and Gary. By maintaining constant communication and using bodyweight to balance out the swaying platform, the brothers collected all the flags with ten seconds to spare! Their victory gave the other twins the false sense that the task wasn't as hard as it looked. Amy and Kim thought they had a good plan, but failed to follow through with it. After grabbing two flags, the platform became vertical and the sisters tumbled off, hanging by their safety harnesses over the rocks below. Nichole and Eusheka, who came from humble New Jersey upbringings, were determined to get at least three flags and advance. They made the same mistake as Amy and Kim (not balancing out their weight), but managed to snag three flags as they slid off the platform - thus securing their spot on day two.

Day two changed the game a bit. Now, instead of working as teams, the twins were playing against each other as individuals. Standing in front of a large billiards table, Joe revealed the next stunt. Four pool balls rested on the green felt, each with a different symbol: an egg, an ant, a squid and a chili pepper. If you know Fear Factor, you've already guessed that each symbol represented an item players would have to eat - and these were no ordinary items. The egg was 100-years old and smelled it. Live ants, fermented squid guts and the hottest chili pepper in the world rounded out the feast. Players would get five shots (including the "break") to sink the four balls. Whichever balls remained would determine what the players ate. Larry chalked up his cue stick and sunk the squid on the break. On his third shot, he sunk the ant and with his fifth shot, he sunk the pepper. All that remained was the rotten egg. Larry's twin Gary seemed to feel his pain as Larry gagged down the egg within the one-minute time limit. Gary was next. Twin powers were in effect, because Gary also sunk all the balls except for the egg. Gary shoved the whole thing in his mouth at once, and looked like he wouldn't be able to get it down. However, he managed to swallow it in time. Eusheka sunk the egg on her break, but couldn't sink anything else! In three minutes she had to wolf down a handful of live ants, the squid guts and the hottest pepper on earth. With tears streaming down her face from the pepper, and her twin cheering her on, Eusheka did it. Nichole was as good at playing pool as her sister. She wound up having to eat the egg, the ants and the pepper. The guys could definitely feel her pain as she gagged on the egg with only seconds to go, but she kept it down and everyone advanced.

Day three found players at a shipyard facing four, 9,000-pound cargo containers suspended 60-feet in the air. Each container had cones at either end, one cone containing a flag. While the containers swayed, players would have to move the flag from one cone to the other, then leap from container to container and repeat the process until all four flags had been moved. The twin with the fastest time would win the big money. Nichole went first, but her slow and steady pace got her time over a minute. Larry raised the bar considerably by completing the stunt in 38 seconds! Twin Gary was determined to beat his brother, but by mistiming a key jump from container to container, his time slipped to over 40 seconds. Eusheka seemed poised to beat Larry, but in her final jump she hit the side of the cargo container! Crawling back up slowed Eusheka down and let Larry become the newest Fear Factor champ.
