Fear Factor Episode 212
Original airdate: March 18, 2002
This was a special 90-Minute episode.
The first stunt took place adjacent a busy, freeway on a bridge formerly known as "Suicide Bridge." Not the most comforting thing for six new players to hear. As Joe explained, they wouldn't have to jump off the bridge - they would simply have to hang off. Each player would stand on a platform extending out from the bridge and grip a thin, metal bar (similar to a trapeze). The platform would then be dropped and the four players with the best "hang time" would advance.
The ladies were up first. Wendy slipped off after 53.2 seconds, but Leslie was able to get a grip for one minute and 16 seconds. If Andrea, a personal trainer, could beat Wendy's time she would send Wendy down the "walk of shame." Andrea held on - and easily beat both Wendy and Leslie's time, falling after one minute and 24 seconds. Michael - a totally buff Chicago mailman - seemed poised to raise the bar (so to speak) for the men. But Michael got shaky and slipped off after only one minute and three seconds! Paul, sporting a red-white-and-blue Mohawk was next. He narrowly outdid Michael with a time of one minute and five seconds. If Phouc also beat Michael's time, Michael would be out. Phouc was also pretty muscular, but couldn't last longer than forty-nine seconds. Overall the women did better than the men on this first stunt.
A cold, creepy junkyard greeted players on night two. What grossness could a fun, arcade-style Skeeball game be hiding? Players' Skeeball scores (one to six) would determine the number of pig uteruses they would have to eat! Not only does pig uterus stink, but it's also an ugly, long, corkscrew-like item. Big Mike was up first and rolled a five! Those long, chewy things were tough to eat and tougher to keep down. With only a minute per uterus, Mike ran out of time. Andrea also rolled a five! She got off to a slow start and wasn't able to pick up the pace. She also ran out of time. Next up, punker Paul. Again, a five. (Didn't these people ever go to an arcade?) Again, out of time. Only Leslie remained. If she completed the stunt, she would be awarded twenty-five thousand dollars and the other players would be brought back for the final stunt; however, the final prize money would be reduced to twenty-five thousand. If she failed to complete the stunt, everyone would be brought back to compete for twenty-five thousand. Leslie also rolled a five - and though she tried her hardest, she couldn't eat everything in time. Everyone would return for the final stunt.
A four-star hotel greeted the lucky returning players. Suspended high above the hotel lobby, stretching from one wing of the hotel to the other, were a dozen Plexiglas plates suspended on cables to form a walkway. Each player would have to walk across the plates and the shaky makeshift bridge. The player with the best time would win. Paul was first, and Michael did his best to be a very loud, very annoying distraction. It worked as Paul barely made it halfway across before falling. Mike was next and despite the girls' feeble attempts at heckling, he confidently made it across in two minutes and 55 seconds. Despite Mike's yells, Andrea used cat-like balance and grace to zip across in one minute, 55 seconds - sending Big Mike home! Could Leslie beat Andrea's time? She jammed across, beating Andrea's time by ten seconds and won the cash prize!
