Fear Factor Episode 211 Original airdate: May 6, 2002
A bright California day illuminated the rooftop where our six players met up with Joe Rogan for their first, harrowing stunt. They would be jumping from a 10-story building across a 16-foot-wide gap to a lower portion of the roof. Jeffrey, a Goth poet from Hollywood, had to remove his numerous facial piercings for safety reasons before he could attempt the stunt. It was worth it, as Jeffrey made the long jump look easy. Maybe too easy. Next up was Octavia, a church worker from Nebraska, and she too made the jump. This gave Eric - or Eric the Viking, as he preferred to be called - a little too much confidence. Refusing to take off his penny loafers because they "define who he is," Eric slipped, slammed into the padded side of the other building and was unable to pull himself up; therefore, he was disqualified. Nicole, whom Remarcus had named Shorty Doo-Wop, was small but mighty as she completed the stunt. Abbey had no fear as she suited up. Unfortunately, she also had no momentum - and her jump was no good. Big talker Remarcus went last, but a little misstep on his take-off took him sailing towards the ground instead of the next day's stunt.
In a restaurant on day two the three remaining players - Jeffrey, Nicole and Octavia - prepared for a Fear Factor feast. Joe unveiled the new version of spaghetti and meatballs: live night crawlers topped with blood meatballs. What is a blood meatball, you ask? Well, it's coagulated cow's blood wrapped in pig intestine of course! Players must fish five blood balls out of a plate full of night crawlers and choke them down within four minutes. Choke turned out to be the operative word. Nicole was spunky, but the blood balls taste funky and she couldn't get one down before quitting. Jeffrey truly gave it his all and was down to the last blood ball when time ran out. So, that meant if Octavia completed the stunt, she would win $25,000 and the other two players would return to challenge her for the remaining $25,000 on day three. If Octavia failed, all three would return, but the prize money would still only be $25,000. No pressure. Octavia put her fate in God's hands - and almost made it happen. Unfortunately, those last two blood balls just wouldn't go down.
On day three, the three players reunited outside a huge water tank filled with icy cold water. They would each be strapped into the cockpit of a fuselage, submerged into the water and flipped upside-down. When a red light signaled them, they would have to unhook themselves and make their way to a rear hatch, exit the fuselage. If they used the wrong exit or had to be rescued, they would be disqualified. Jeffrey - who should've worn waterproof mascara - was first. He bonked his head on one of the seats and exited the wrong way, causing safety rescuers to assist his ascent to the surface. Octavia was next and completed the stunt successfully in only 18 seconds! Nicole was determined to beat that time. Although she seemed to have trouble with the hatch, Nicole sped to the surface in 15 seconds, making her the newest Fear Factor champ!
