Episode 205 January 28, 2002
The lake looked calm, and so did the players as they arrived for their first stunt. As an ominous, black helicopter flew nearby, Joe explained the challenge. Players would have to climb out one side of the helicopter as it hovered twenty-five feet above the cold water, then traverse underneath the helicopter using a cargo net fastened to the runners. Only after they hoisted themselves back inside on the other side of the helicopter would their time be complete. The two players (one male, one female) with the lowest times would be eliminated. That, however, wouldn't be a problem. Lana, a self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie, was up first and made things look easy. She scurried around the net with a time of fifty seconds! Angelica, however, lost her grip and plunged almost immediately into the lake. With Angelica eliminated, Jennifer's time was not a factor. She completed the stunt in just over a minute. If the guys were nervous, they weren't saying. Jason tried to apply a "monkey bar" technique - which proved to be a bad idea when he fell. Neither Noel nor Bradley had to worry about time. That didn't stop Noel from zipping around the net in forty seconds! Bradley was just happy to finish at all.
On day two, Joe met players at a rifle range and made them put on protective gear before showing them their stunt. He opened fire on a Fear Factor target! Each player's first two shots to hit the target (with numbers zero through two) would determine their score. Their score would determine the number of pig rectums - or bungs - they would have to eat! They would have four minutes to eat each bung. Bradley, an experienced hunter and marksman, was up first. With two bull's-eyes, each worth zero, he would not have to eat any "poop shoots" as Joe referred to them. For Jennifer and Lana it was their first time firing a weapon. Jennifer missed, then hit the "2" followed by a bull's-eye! She said the bung smelled "just like chitlins," but had trouble gagging them down. Lana missed the target so many times it seemed the day would never end! Finally, she scored a four. She literally choked them down in time. Noel, who had some gun training in the boy scouts, also scored four. He seemed to enjoy the long, sausage-like treat and even did a "pig butt-eating dance." Everyone advanced to the final round.
As players stood facing an old, tall building Joe explained the "ledge walk." After climbing out an eleven-story window, players had to walk 110-feet along a narrow ledge filled with obstacles (i.e.: plants, fake birds, buckets etc). Whoever made it to the fire escape in the quickest time would win. Lana was first and once again, made it look easy. Her final time was one minute and twenty-five seconds. Bradley's fear of heights became a factor and slowed him down - eliminated him with his time of one minute, forty-two seconds. Once Jennifer climbed onto the ledge and looked down, she became paralyzed with fear and quit! Only Noel remained. Playing for his ailing grandfather, Noel sped along the ledge despite Lana's taunts from the fire escape. With a time of fifty-two seconds, Noel proved fear was not a factor for him!
