Joe greets the six contestants lakeside on a crystal clear morning. The first stunt requires them to ride on the back of a speeding jet ski alongside a hovering helicopter. Once the helicopter drops closer to the lake's surface, the players must stand up, grab hold of the helicopter's specially rigged skid and hoist themselves on board.
Jeanette, a Canadian fitness trainer, soon emerges as the trash-talker of the group. Her non-stop badgering doesn't seem to bother the other five competitors - and Shannon can give as well as she takes. However, when Shannon attempts the stunt, she can't quite muster the strength and plunges into the lake. While the guys have no trouble, Jeanette hopes petite Lisa suffers Shannon's fate. Lisa gets off to a rough start and for a moment looks like she won't make it onto the helicopter. Perhaps motivated by her desire to pay off her debts, Lisa has a burst of strength and successfully makes it onboard. Jeanette gets really quiet when her turn rolls around, and Brent and Chris try to give her some of her own medicine. Jeanette's confidence proves warranted though when she completes the stunt with no problems.
On day two, the remaining five arrive at a seemingly innocent bowling alley, where Joe awaits with their fate: Bowling for Beetles. After two attempts at bowling a strike, players must eat LIVE beetles based on the number of pins left standing. Joe is quick to point out that not only are the beetles squirmy, they stink too! Trey's up first and has to eat two beetles. Wide-eyed and squirmy himself, he gets them down. Chris steps up and bowls two gutter balls! A sensitive massage therapist, Chris apologizes to the stinky critters as he chews up 10 beetles. When Jeanette steps up, the others chime in with taunts. Maybe it was karma, but Jeanette's first ball goes in the gutter. She only winds up with three pins in the end. Brent feels Chris' pain, as he gulps down nine crunchy beetles. And Lisa seems like she may not keep her four beetles down - but she pulls it off, shaking the entire time.
Everyone advances to the final stunt: A rope crawl 100 feet up and 60 feet across. Players must crawl on top of the rope from one rooftop to the other. If they fall under the rope, they instantly get a two-minute penalty. Lisa's up first and instantly loses her balance. Now under the rope and two minutes behind, she makes a slow beeline for the finish. Final time: 4:06.2. Chris decides to follow her lead and flips under on purpose. His final time: 2:19. Lisa is out. Brent, inspired by his Dad, just keeps thinking "wall, wall, wall" and makes it across on top and in a record time of 1:49.3. Jeanette's confidence still hasn't wavered and once again she meets the challenge head on. She ousts Brent with her time of 1:11.7. It's all down to ex-Navy man Trey. But his military training gives him no special edge as he flips under the rope halfway across. Guess smack-talker Jeanette put her money where her mouth is! She becomes Fear Factor's first female winner.
