Darting For Crickets

Crickets are a delicacy in Asian cuisine. In fact, there is a pan Asian restaurant at the Santa Monica Airport that serves crickets. However, there is a big difference between eating some little guys who have been seasoned, salted, and stir fried and popping a live cricket into your mouth.

To add to the atmosphere of the stunt, we put the crickets in a glass tank in a scary basement of a building in downtown Los Angeles. Apparently we weren't the first to be creeped out by the place: it was the same location where many of the basement scenes from Fight Club had been filmed.

Our contestants are a competitive bunch, and we thought a great way of pulling their legs would be to set up a game of darts. Driven by their desire to succeed and the lure of an extra fifty grand in their pockets, we figured (correctly!) that the contestants would do their best to hit the bulls eye on the target.

Well, it doesn't always pay to be an overachiever, because those who hit closest to the target ended up eating more crickets.
