Dave and Krista had a lot on their plate when they competed in our Fear Factor Picnic. As they recount in this weeks Tale Of Fear it was a nauseating feast.
FEAR FACTOR: Krista, how was that potato and worm salad you had to eat?
KRISTA: The potato and worm salad was horrible. The worms would just take forever to swallow 'cause they were do long and so slimy. And even the potato salad tasted horrible and I hate potato salad, in the first place, so it was just kind of a double whammy.
FEAR FACTOR: What was the texture like?
KRISTA: It was so slimy and so, it tasted horrible. It was just disgusting and the worms would wiggle around in your mouth. I couldn't even swallow it. I thought I was gonna throw up every single time. Just looking at the worms, I almost puked right there,...
FEAR FACTOR: How about the Roach ice tea?
KRISTA: I didn't even touch it. I couldn't.
FEAR FACTOR: You didn’t even give it a sip?
KRISTA: No, I couldn't, I made David do it. [LAUGHS]
FEAR FACTOR: So basically, you just let David eat everything?
KRISTA: Yeah, I was horrible at the eating thing and I knew Dave was a champ at it. He was taking it on and I felt like I should just become his cheerleader [LAUGHS] after awhile 'cause he was doing such a good job and I knew I just couldn’t finish it so, ah, yeah. I just cheered him on in the end.
FEAR FACTOR: David, how gross was the maggot filled chicken?
DAVID: That chicken was disgusting. I like chicken, I really like chicken. It's my favorite meal my mom makes. I love sesame chicken, I love chicken but maggot chicken just doesn’t sit well in my stomach.
FEAR FACTOR: How bad was the Roach ice tea?
DAVID: The drink was disgusting because it was just really crunchy. It wasn’t squirmy or alive 'cause it had drowned. But the drink, holy friggin' god, that was disgusting. It tasted like the smell of poop, pee, fart, throw-up, anything imaginable. You throw it in a drink, mush it up, let it sit around for awhile and you got what I had to drink.
FEAR FACTOR: You looked like you were gonna puke at any second.
DAVID: As I was drinking, I was just wanted to puke it up. My body was like you, why are you being this stupid? And as it was going into my mouth I was like what the frick is this? It doesn’t taste like anything I’ve ever tasted. I don’t ever want to taste it again. Why am I still drinking it? It was disgusting.
FEAR FACTOR: Are you mad that Krista didn't eat more?
DAVID: I was kind of mad Krista didn't eat anything. I kind of wanted to say Krista, come on, we gotta eat something but I didn't and, 'cause I was, I was trying to eat food. And so it's kind of disappointing she didn't eat anything 'cause, who knows, if she had maybe finished we could have gotten another arrow, but, so yeah.
FEAR FACTOR: So do you think there's a chance you guys would go to the prom together?
KRISTA: There's a good chance I might go to the Prom with Dave. I would, actually, love to go out there and, ah, see him again. See how he's doing. I think, I think it would be fun.
DAVID: I don't know about the Prom, it's lots of months away. I think we can stay friends. She's a cool person. But I don't know about the Prom. There’s a lot of cool people in Colorado. She was cool. So, and it's six months away so I don’t know.
