Strapped to a spinning wheel with her head locked in an enclosed helmet filled with 75 scorpions, Ashley had to attempt to gather as many scorpions as she could from the ground and stick them in her helmet. She relives the whole hair raising event in this week’s edition of the Tale of Fear.
FEAR FACTOR: Were you scared?
ASHLEY: I was very scared. I completely panicked. I was hyperventilating and I was terrified. I'd never been bitten by anything other than an ant and I was told scorpion stings are like a hundred times a bee sting and I've never even been bitten by a bee!
FEAR FACTOR: What was it like having all those scorpions dumped on your head?
ASHLEY: I just started feeling all the little claws, their feet or whatever crawling all over me and I couldn't tell if they were biting. I just pictured myself being completely submerged in scorpions. I couldn't control my emotions.
FEAR FACTOR: Did you cry?
ASHLEY: Yeah I was crying a little bit. It most certainly was the scariest thing I have ever, ever done.
FEAR FACTOR: Had you ever seen a scorpion before?
ASHLEY: Not up close, I'd never seen a scorpion up close. I'd seen it on TV and maybe a museum or something but never up close.
FEAR FACTOR: Did you get dizzy spinning around up there?
ASHLEY: Actually before the game even started like just to seeing the stunt I was really dizzy and so when I got in the box and it was so, such a closed off space and I was being restricted and I was thinking about all these elements that were bothering me I started hyperventilating and things or just breathing really
