EAT THE CAMEL SPIDER

Facing down elimination Paulo and Guilliana had to free themselves from a pair of straightjackets after eating four Iraqi Camel Spiders. In the history of Fear Factor there has never been a more frightening looking bug that our contestants have had to eat and these two had to find a way to put this ferocious Iraqi arachnid in their mouths as the recount in this weeks Tale Of Fear.

FEAR FACTOR: So how would you describe an Iraqi Camel Spider?

PAULO: And it was a mix of scorpion, spider and everything nasty in between. It was the most disgusting alien-looking thing I had ever seen. I thought Joe was going to say it was from Mars.

GUILLIANA: And they’re huge -- and they talk about how these get in our soldiers' sleeping bags and start eating them from the toe up and stuff. It was so scary. I actually started to cry before we even started the stunt. That thing looked like it was going to eat me. It was so big and so hairy and just- it had these huge jaws.

FEAR FACTOR: Did you think she was going to be able to eat it?

PAULO: I believed that she could do it. I knew she just needed a little bit of pushing and she could do it.

GUILLIANA: I didn't want to have anything to do with it and I knew that I had to get it done. So, I just zoned out. I said, you know what, it’s a quarter of a million dollars... And I have to do this. So I picked it up, I took a chunk, and when I pulled it out the spinal cord was still hanging there. It was so gross and then I just chewed it and chewed it.

It was such a relief to see her take that first bite because then I knew she was committed. At that point it was just pure weight off my shoulders, off our shoulders.

GUILLIANA: I still can't believe that I did it.
