Blaire Wheeler found herself confronting her fears in our very own Fear Factor barber’s chair. Fate had determined that her full head of hair would be cut into a new style that we like to call the patch, a random series of bald spots spread across her mutilated locks.
FEAR FACTOR: What was going through your mind as the barber dragged the clippers across your head?
BLAIRE: I felt a cold draft on all my new bald spot. I purposely didn’t put my hand in my hair until it he was finished, 'cause I didn’t want to touch it. But it was the oddest feeling, 'cause I’d feel a clump of hair, and then I would feel it disappear. It was terrible.
FEAR FACTOR: Was it sad to see it all go?
BLAIRE: I had been growing' out my hair for two years and it was pretty shocking lose all that hair in just a few minutes. I would have done anything. I was ready to eat somethin’ or stick my head in somthin'. Anything gross, any other gross stunt would have been no problem. Cutting my hair was the absolute worst scenario. I would never have imagined this would happen.
FEAR FACTOR: What made you decide to go through with it?
BLAIRE: I'm absolutely crazy for doing this. I was wonderin' the whole time if it was really worth what I was doing and the money that I was doing it for. When he first snipped my hair, it actually hurt. I've never had some one use a buzzer on my hair before and I think this one must have been rusty. But at that point I knew it was too late and there was no going back.
FEAR FACTOR: What do you think your friends and family back home will think of your new hairdo?
BLAIRE: I know my Mom's probably going to freak out, 'cause she never would imagined in a million years that I would ever do anything so drastic to my hair and "this", "this" is beyond imagination.
