After having survived their tour of duty in last seasons Fear Factor Couples episodes, veteran contestants Megan & James thought they had put their last horrific gross stunt far behind them, but fifty thousand dollars can be a hell of a motivator. Here they recount just what its like to get sprayed in the mouth with 30 gallons of squid ink.
FEAR FACTOR: So what was it like getting sprayed in the mouth with Squid Ink?
MEGHAN: It's disgusting. It smells like rotten fish. I'm sitting under this funnel and all of a sudden it starts shooting out and I have to get this stuff in my mouth and it was just disgusting. It was salty and there were chunks. It tastes like rotten fish. I was spitting it in Jim's mouth and all of a sudden it just goes down my throat and I swallow some and I started gagging. It's disgusting and I just didn't want to do it anymore.
FEAR FACTOR: Was it difficult to transfer the fluid to James?
MEGHAN: I couldn't see anything. My goggles were just covered with squid ink. Jim would just grab my face. I didn't even know what was happening. I knew I was getting really good mouthfuls but other than that I was clueless.
FEAR FACTOR: James, what was it like watching Meghan under that spray?
JAMES: I saw Meghan squirming under there I knew that it was rotten. One look at her facial expression and I knew it was gonna be bad. So as soon as I leaned down and I put my lips on hers and she spit it into my mouth my first reaction was to gag. I knew that it was gonna be a hard stunt from then on. Each mouthful just got thicker and thicker, it was just rotten. Each time I would run over, she was plugging her nose. I put my lips on hers and her hand would drip ink into my eye. I couldn't see anything. It was running down my face. I was trying to find the cylinder but ever time I would open my eyes the squid ink would drip in and I couldn't see.
FEAR FACTOR: What was the hardest part of the stunt?
JAMES: It was definitely filling the cylinder. It was difficult just to see it, let alone try and put my lips on it and spit into it. I couldn't see where the fluid inside, it just looked black, completely black because the ink had dyed it.
