Allan Wu had to battle his way out of our Fear Factor Bar by taking out as many bottles as he could with a fully automatic machine gun spraying explosive pellets. When the smoke finally cleared, anything left on the bar would represent a shot of pure Fear Factor Fire Water (blended fisheyes, beetles, maggots & worms) he would have to slam down in order to make his way into the final stunt.
FEAR FACTOR: Take me through everything going through your head as you see all those 21 shots in front of you.
ALLAN WU: I didn't think it'd be that bad. I smelled the shots. It was vile. It was repugnant. It was putrid. But I didn't think it would be that bad. I was under the impression that I could drink all 57 shots if I had to. But after Kristen & Eric both threw up I began to think that "Maybe this stuff is the real deal." I tried to shoot as many of the bottles as I could but there were still 21 left standing. When Joe brought out that tray of 21 shots of just rancid crap insect filth for me to drink I was overwhelmed. The stuff was just reeking. He laid it down in front of me. And I was like thinking to myself, "Thank goodness I only have to drink 21 of these."
FEAR FACTOR: What was it like going from the first to the final shot on that tray?
ALLAN WU: I drank that first shot and just realized it was just the most filthy, piercing, disgusting filth I have ever ingested in my entire life. I had to stop and try to figure out, "What the hell am I actually eating here?" By about the 19th, 20th shot, I was like, "This stuff is coming up. I better get through this fast or I'm going to be finished." There was no time for showboating. I just wanted to survive.
