FLY SHAKE

During his second visit to Fear Factor Michael "Fudge" Thompson got more than a mouthful as he raced against the clock to chug-down a shake made from live house flies and blended maggots.

FEAR FACTOR: Describe the stunt to me.

MICHAEL THOMPSON: Lookin' at the bowl with the maggots movin' wasn't botherin' me too bad, you know? The taste and the smell kinda got to me, but the fact that you gotta spit it in this container and then suck it out, that's what really got me to gaggin'. And it was really killin' my stomach. The maggots was movin' around and touchin' my tongue. It was just somethin' that I would never imagine doin' or even seein' up close like that.

FEAR FACTOR: What about the flies? Tell me about the moments where you were gagging.

MICHAEL THOMPSON: I had to just grab every upper body strength that I could muster up and just try to choke it down. To go that far just to quit would've killed me. So the best thing for me to do was just try to muster up all the strength that I had heart, body, soul, and mind and just get it done and get it done as quick as I could. I gotta keep it alive and movin'. You know what I'm sayin'? So I had to do what I had to do in order to finish it, even though that was the worst, most horrific cuisine I ever tasted. Oh man, that was terrible. Never in my wildest dreams fallin' asleep drunk I would've never thought of nothin' like that. It was just crazy.

FEAR FACTOR: Do you think drinking the milkshake will make a loss tomorrow even harder?

MICHAEL THOMPSON: Yeah it would definitely bother me and it would hurt me a little bit. I'm a strong individual, mind, body, and soul. I would definitely bounce back within like two or three days after it's over with. But it's not to say that I'm gonna make up any kind of excuses because there is no excuse for second. There is no room for second. Second place is, is nothing! I have also a phobia of maggots. I will not go near maggots if I see 'em in the trashcan or wherever, so I got past that. I won't touch 'em so I ate 'em tonight. Tomorrow is gonna be wonderful. It's gonna be a wonderful thing.
