In the second stunt of our models episode Angela Young had to swim through a freezing cold swamp, crawl over buoys, jump into a sunken boat and climb a tree before wrestling an 8ft alligator out of an 18inch sewer pipe. Here is her tale.
FEAR FACTOR: What was the most difficult part of the stunt for you?
ANGELA YOUNG: The water. It was so cold I felt like I was going to get hypothermia but I just kept pressing on and my mind and body were having this weird conflict. My body was like keep going, my mind's like are you crazy? I just kept pressing on and moving through and got through the boat, then went to the tree and it was like natural for me to climb the tree the way I did.
FEAR FACTOR: Describe having to climb up that tree and then falling off of it.
ANGELA YOUNG: Slow and steady wins the race and I walked up the tree and the key seemed so far away and then when I looked up it was like right there. So I grabbed it and then I knew that I wanted to get as close to the water before I dropped in. So I kind of slid down one side of the tree and then dropped in. But dropping in I went all the way in, my head and everything and I came out and it was so cold.
FEAR FACTOR: You seemed to get the gate to the sewer pipe opened quickly?
ANGELA YOUNG:I don't know why but it just worked for me. After that dropping the water was a little bit of like wow, awakening experience almost and then I walked up to the shore and got to the gate on the pipe. I was lucky and the first key opened the lock and I pushed the gate up and climbed in the tunnel. I couldn't breathe and I pulled back out. I just needed time to think. It was just that scary.
FEAR FACTOR: Was it the alligator that scared you?
ANGELA YOUNG: The alligator was scary but it was the tunnel that really freaked me out. I'm totally claustrophobic. I really felt like I was suffocating. When I finally got in the tunnel the alligator was a lot closer to me and I just went in and I grabbed him and yanked him out and I was just so happy that I'd gotten in the tunnel.
