Fear was definitely a factor for couples contestant Meg when she was covered with hundreds of rats from head to toe. Her boyfriend Adam had the difficult tasks of not only bobbing in the rats for chicken feet, but more importantly trying to convince Meg to stay in the coffin.
FEAR FACTOR: What did you think when Joe introduced the stunt?
MEG: I freaked out. I don't like rats.
ADAM: That's why I was trying to talk to you before.
MEG: I don't like bugs on me. I'm proud of myself of even getting in that container.
ADAM: I am proud that you got in there too. 'Cause you were so confident. You kept telling me, we got this in the bag.
MEG: I didn't know what it's like to have 400 rats over me until I'm in there.
FEAR FACTOR: What was it like being inside the box with the rats?
MEG: Being inside the box of rats, I just freaked out. It felt like they poured 'em all on my head.
And it's like 20 pounds of rats. I wanted to get 'em off of my neck and my face. I did not want the rats biting me.
FEAR FACTOR: Did your reaction surprise you?
MEG: I knew that I was gonna hate every second of it, but I thought I was gonna be fine. Then once the rats came in it was like, holy crap.
ADAM HIPP: It was overwhelming for her, I think.
FEAR FACTOR: Do you think that you could get in a coffin with rats again?
MEG: Yeah, I would try. I seriously would try. I just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. So if I get back in there I'm gonna be really freaked out.
FEAR FACTOR: What were you telling Meg while she was in the coffin?
ADAM: I was like, Meg come on, keep your legs together. This is gonna be a hell of a lot harder than we anticipated, cause everything was under her legs and in the corners under six inches of rats.
