It's tough enough riding a mechanical bull but the pressure is really on when your bronco-busting skills are dictating which gross bull parts you have to eat. Contestant Olivia Jones recalls her disgusting platter of spine, spleen and hairy, leathery snouts.
FEAR FACTOR: What were you thinking when you found out you were going to have to ride the mechanical bull? Were you thinking you could hang on, or was it just like, "Oh, God, there's no way."
OLIVIA JONES: I honestly just wanted to say, "Skip the bull, just let me eat the gross stuff." There's no way I could ride that bull. I mean, it looked really difficult and it was. It was tough.
FEAR FACTOR: And how tough was eating the food?
OLIVIA JONES: It was really gross. I wanted to win the money so I just had to strategize. I don't know what it was I was eating -- the spleen, the slimy gross spine, or the snout with the hair on it - but I had to get it wet and slobby so it could go down. Oh my God, it was nasty. It was choking me, but I just did it, man. It was nasty. The hair was still in my teeth after I finished.
FEAR FACTOR: So you mixed the dry foods with the wet foods?
OLIVIA JONES: Yes. The spleen was really, really dry so I just had to mix it up with the others. The spinal cord was slobbery and disgusting. I just had to squeeze it all together and get it down. It was nasty.
FEAR FACTOR: What was the snout like?
OLIVIA JONES: The snout was a weird taste. You could feel the hair going down. It was nasty. Oh, it was just nasty, but it had to go down.
FEAR FACTOR: It looked like you almost ran out of time.
OLIVIA JONES: I knew the time was short and I had to get it down. I told myself, "It's only six minutes, do it, as tough as it may look, just do it, just do it." So I just had to squeeze everything together, get all the juices, as nasty as it was, I just had to get all the juices together to get it swallowed. Ugh.
FEAR FACTOR: Anything else?
OLIVIA JONES: It was just really, really hard, especially the snout with the hair. Oh my -- Ugh! Nasty!
