THE FEAR FACTOR FILE
STUNT: ISOLATION POD
LOCATION: RYCOFF BUILDING BASEMENT, DOWNTOWN L.A.
DESCRIPTION:Each couple must sit inside an isolation barrel where they will compete against opposing couples in a head-to-head endurance challenge. While inside they will face a series of mental and physical challenges designed to draw them out of their pod. In order to draw the game to a close they will face a final challenge where they will hold shut weighted valves in order to keep their barrel from flooding with water. The stunt was designed to last no longer than 3 to 4 hours.

FEAR FACT

  • The contestants had no idea that they were sitting on an electrified floor capable of delivering a 2000-volt shock.
  • The pods where built out of modified septic tanks.
  • A speaker was installed in the back of the pod that was capable of playing sirens at an obnoxious 140 decibels.
