THE FEAR FACTOR FILE
STUNT: TRASHCAN SCAVANGER HUNT
LOCATION: DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES
DESCRIPTION: Contestants will jump into one of two dumpsters filled with garbage to retrieve one of eight different items. Once an item is found the contestants must locate a matching item in one of eight barrels filled with sludge, oil, lard or rotten squid. The couple that can match four of the eight items in the shortest amount of time will win a prize.

FEAR FACT

  • Each barrel contains fifty-five gallons of gross fluid.
  • Items found in the dumpster include a thermos, gas can, baseball mitt, work boot, toaster and a hard hat.
  • The matching items were secured to the bottom of the barrels by bolts requiring the contestants to use both hands and completely submerge themselves in muck to retrieve them.
