STUNT: TUNNEL ESCAPE
LOCATION: DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES
DESCRIPTION: Contestants make their way through a series of obstacles including spiders, rats, fire & sewage within a maze of tunnels. The couple that takes the most amount of time to navigate the tunnel will be eliminated.
FEAR FACT
- The construction of the tunnel maze was the largest set ever built for Fear Factor and encompassed an area of close to 3000 square feet.
- Over 500 sewer rats were used in the rat section of the maze.
- Giant bird eating Goliath Tarantulas that can measure up to twelve inches in diameter were used in the spider section of the maze.

The first chamber of the tunnel maze includes a corridor of raw sewage that the contestants must wade through.

With a head full of webs the contestants plow through the spider section of the maze.

Having extinguished the wall of flames the contestants are able to get through the third and final stage of the maze.
