Season 7

SEASON 7 SYNOPSIS After completing three months of rehab, Carter slowly makes his way back to Chicago, agreeing to constant monitoring in order to return to work. County General is plagued by a janitor strike, prolonged by Romano's stubbornness. After a nasty interview, Romano makes Benton an attending. Abby causes a scene by berating her ex-husband for non-payment of her tuition, which will delay her education. Chen conceals her pregnancy but later confesses to Weaver.

Carter's surprised to run into Abby at an AA meeting. She admits to being five years dry, and agrees to be his sponsor. Now living with Greene, Elizabeth is frustrated with his crappy apartment. After work, he surprises her with a date to their beautiful new townhome, where he proposes marriage. Romano refuses to allow Benton operate on an abusive diabetic who sold his Medicare plan. When a county inspector shows up, Romano pretends it's all a mix-up, but later fires Benton.
