Season 4

SEASON 4 SYNOPSIS Still not recovered from the trauma of his beating, Greene hosts a documentary film crew in the ER, and is subsequently served with a wrongful death suit. As his behavior becomes more erratic, his ex-wife tells him to get it together or risk losing visitation rights. Doug and Carol's relationship moves into a new phase when she gives him a drawer. Joining the ER, Carter must restart his residency, and British trauma specialist Dr. Elizabeth Corday joins the surgical staff. After suffering a heart attack, Morgenstern puts Weaver in charge. Weaver's cost-cutting measures prove unpopular, and she tells Doug that his fellowship is in jeopardy.

Benton and Carla's son gains strength. They finally agree on a name, but argue about everything else. Carla has Reese circumcised without Benton's consent. Carter accuses Doyle of favoring Anna, whom he is dating. When Al has an accident at work, Jeanie advises him to reveal his HIV status, which costs him his job. Later Jeanie must use her bare hand to stop a patient from bleeding out, drawing Weaver's ire. The ER is flooded with injured children following a school bus accident. Carter demands that Benton treat him as an equal, and their confrontation ends in a physical fight.
