Season 13

SEASON 13 SYNOPSIS After Steve and the inmates take off with Sam and Alex, Abby's water breaks and she undergoes a C-section. Baby Joe is fine, but profuse uterine bleeding mandates a hysterectomy. Meanwhile, Steve kills the remaining inmates and rapes Sam. When he falls asleep, Sam takes his gun and shoots Steve. Sam's boss, Richard, insists it was self-defense, and arranges for the DA to conclude the same. Later, Sam learns that Alex saw the whole thing. The board wants to fire Luka over the Clemente affair, but Weaver takes responsibility and is demoted to attending. Abby's mother Maggie shows up to create havoc as baby Joe turns blue and is rushed to surgery.

On his first day as an intern, Gates gets off to a rough start by aggravating Pratt with his sloppy charting. Later, Gates confesses to Neela that he's dyslexic. Abby decides not to hire a nanny and returns to work. Pratt allows his brother Chaz to move in, but kicks him out after surprising Chaz and his male lover. Pratt punches Gates during an argument.
