SEASON 10 SYNOPSIS With the ER in renovations, a multi-car accident near the ambulance bay creates chaos. On her first day, brilliant med student Neela Ragostra loses one patient and saves another. Although she divorced Chuck, Susan continues to date him. Carter is met with a chilly reception from Abby upon his return from the Congo. When he gets a call informing him that Luka is dead, Carter leaves to retrieve the body despite Abby's pleas to stay. After an arduous search, Carter finds Luka near death. Deciding to stay behind, Carter sends Luka to Chicago along with a Dear John letter for Abby.

New residents start at County, including Archie Morris and Nick "Coop" Cooper, who pisses off an already angry Romano – his insurance won't pay for a prosthetic arm, only a hook. Pratt and Chen's dinner is interrupted by her scandalized parents. When Pratt states his feelings about their relationship, Chen ends it. Elizabeth and Fast Eddie do it in a car. Just as she relents to dating him, his wife calls.
