Episode #214 - "Wild Card"
Victim One
Name: Cameron O'Day
Gender: M Age: 14
Location of Body: Submerged in frozen lake
Cause of death: Six wounds, three to upper chest, two to abdomen, one to heart.
Physical Evidence:
- Six splotchy red marks to neck and chest.
- Gang tattoos
- Pen and ink drawing of a dragon retrieved from victim's sock
Analysis/Lab Work
- Dimensions of weapon preserved due to bodies frozen condition; cast of hunting knife made to aid police.
- X-rays reveal first three stab wounds clean. Second set jagged - suggesting that knife was twisted while inserted.
- Piece of metal retrieved from body, not from knife - bullet fragment.
- Fingerprint found on bullet fragment.
Conclusions:
What were initially thought to be stab wounds, were bullet holes. Killer used hunting knife to methodically dig bullets out of body post-mortem.
Victim Two
Name: Ezekiel
Gender: M
Location of Body: Near the wharf
Physical Evidence:
- Puncture wound to the neck. Ink near wound indicates pen used as weapon.
Analysis/Lab Work:
- X-rays reveal cracked rib cage.
- Tox screen shows heroin overdose as C.O.D, not stab wounds
- Metal compounds in bullet match nine millimeter.
