Location of Body: Police Interrogation Room

Physical Evidence:
  • Distended abdomen.
  • Pattern of bruises across victim's back
Dr. Martin Thaxton autopsy conclusions:
Cause of death was internal bleeding sustained after broken rib punctured the victim's liver. Probably as a result of collision victim was involved in earlier that day.

Dr. Thaxton's examination rendered body useless for ME's office to confirm his findings in traditionl manner. Tox screen revealed presence of ecstasy and cocaine in victim at time of death.

Virtual Autopsy results:
  • Victim's 12th rib broken off at the end, not consistent with traffic accident or impact determined to be four to eight hours old at time of death. Consistent with constriction.
M.E. Conclusions: Constriction, not car accident, caused rib to break and puncture liver. Internal bleeding led to death.
