Episode #102 - "Dawn of a New Day"
Victim One
Name: Mr. Stahler
Gender:M Occupation: Cab driver
Location of body: Dumped near warehouse
Time of Death: approximately 11:30pm (last known fare, 11:18pm)
Physical Evidence:
- Medium caliber wound entered lowered posterior cranium. No exit wound.
- No gun residue on victim's hand
- 2-day old bruises on knuckles
- .38 bullet found in head
- Scarring indicates two rotator cuff surgeries on right arm
Other Evidence:
- At crime scene: wrapper from orange-flavored nicotine gum.
- At phone booth from which call placed to victim's cell phone: same type of gum wrapper
Conclusions: Injuries not consistent with recent attacks/robberies against cab drivers. More likely an excecution than a botched robbery.
Victim Two
Name: Mr. Babcock
Gender: M Age: 34
Location of body: 12 miles from home
Time of death: near Midnight
Physical Evidence:
- Lividity marks on back resemble first few digits of license plate
- DMV search matches digits to Victim One's cab
- Head trauma downward and lateral to the left of the skull's median, meaning assailant was right-handed.
Conclusions: At some point, Victim Two was in the trunk of Victim One's cab. Victim One's rotator cuff injuries would've prohibited him from assaulting Victim Two in a manner consistent with Victim Two's injuries.
Victim Three
Name: "Mr. Stinky"
Gender: M Age: 70's
Location of body: Morgue. (last unidentifiable body in residence)
Physical Evidence:
- Excess cartilage around joints with scar tissue reveals fingers were broken and rehealed. Possible torture - not arthritis.
- Brain atrophy at front-end temporal lobe.
- Asbestos in lungs.
- Neurofibrillary tangles reveal Alzheimer's
X-Ray Findings:
- Bullet in rib-cage contains periosteum buildup. Victim lived with bullet inside him for years.
Note: Bullet found to be .22 caliber Mauser Werke rifle bullet, standard issue for Germans in WWII, specifically Battle of Kersk.
Conclusions: Search V.A. databases and cross reference Victim's belongings to get positive I.D.
