Shawna Ray - Single Mom

Single Mom shares love wherever she goes
The whole world should know about my Mom, Shawna Ray because she has always been there for me and also for other kids. She wrote a book called, "Take a Trip to Diverse City". It's a really great book that was inspired by a true story when my brother's friend got his feelings hurt. And then my Mom made up the part about Diverse City, where there are lots of different colors, food, music and people who work together. She goes to schools and talks to kids and sings a song to help them understand that we are all different and that is a good gift we are given to share. My Mom always says to treat other people how you want them to treat you.

She is the best Mom and has always been there for me. My Mom and Dad are divorced. She works hard from her office at our house so that she is there for me and my brother Zachary when we get home from school. She says goodnights with us before bed every night. One time when I fell in the mud she hugged me up and washed me off and helped me to laugh about it later and not be embarrassed. She is always getting me to look at things differently and tells me to breathe and calm down so that things seem easier to deal with.

I pick my Mom for America's Favorite Mom because she has the biggest heart in the world and loves everyone just the way they are. I got a nomination form from my teacher at school but then I had to ask my grandma to help me nominate my Mom so I could get my letter onto the computer. She is also the best grandma in the world and has always been there for me and my Mom! If it wasn't for both of them, I would not be here! Mom wrote a song for grandma that we are going to try to share here too in a video coming soon.
