A Mom Who Empowers Other Moms and Mompreneurs
Lisa Druxman is more than just a wonderful mom of two. If the role of "mom" is defined by a willingness to support in any way possible, provide a better life for the ones she cares for, and always urge those she looks out for to succeed, she's a "mom" to thousands of women - moms, themselves - across the country.

A lifelong fitness enthusiast, Druxman first recognized the need for a "mommy-friendly" workout after the birth of her son in 2001. Wanting to maximize time with her baby, but also needing to get back into pre-pregnancy shape, she created a series of exercises using power walks, her stroller, exercise tubing, and the outdoors. Lisa started classes in her neighborhood, and soon enough, a small business was born. Within a year, her exercise program "Stroller Strides" went from one location with four moms to 12 locations with over 1,000 moms. Stroller Strides currently boasts more than 20,000 participants and over 600 locations across the country.

The 60-minute classes that combine a stroller walk and intervals of body toning using exercise tubing, the environment and the stroller, provide moms with a fun and effective way to get fit following pregnancy, an opportunity to bond with their babies through exercise, and a supportive, social community.

Druxman has not only created an environment for thousands of moms to regain confidence through exercise and also develop lasting friendships along the way; she's also further supported moms by providing them with an opportunity to have a family-friendly, flexible career.

Stroller Strides currently offers franchises throughout the U.S., and, just recently, in British Columbia, CAN, as well. Mothers can purchase a franchise in their area and begin offering the fitness program to their communities during the days and times of their choosing. Because the program incorporates children, franchise owners can always bring their child to work and are able to run the majority of their business from home. This model allows moms to sustain a rewarding, successful career, while at the same time, never relinquishing their role as an outstanding mother.

In addition, Druxman has also implemented many other activities within the Stroller Strides program that benefit busy moms, offering free playgroups and clubs for moms (even those who aren't Stroller Strides participants), and even opportunities for women to become involved in various community service projects through her Moms With a Mission program.

A loving, giving mom of two herself, Druxman has experienced the challenges associated with balancing family, fitness and a career, and has developed a solution that she wants to share with all mothers.
