The Secret (Service) Life

Hey there, Skiptonians! I wanted to do a feature on my Secret Service agent buddy, Andy, for this week's blog, but he wouldn't answer any of my questions, let me take his picture or give me his last name, so I decided to do "A Day in the Life of Andy Through the Eyes of Skip" instead.

I'm guessing Andy's day begins in a sweet bachelor pad. (No ring, ladies!) He gets up, raises his automated window shades and goes for a run, staying in shape to chase away my more aggressive autograph hounds. Then it's off to work at the White House. But on his way, he stops for a protein-boosted smoothie made by his favorite Jamba Juice honey, Megan. They've been flirting for a while, but he's waiting to fill up his punch card before he pulls the trigger. Anyway, once Andy's at work, it's nonstop adventures with me - we might go to the West Wing, or the Rose Garden, or to the South Lawn. Sometimes we even catch a flick in the screening room. I can tell Andy's got a soft spot for romantic comedies. The eyes don't lie. (He's otherwise pretty expressionless.)

Our day usually winds down with dinner, sometimes formal, sometimes a Taco Bell run (Andy's addicted to those Doritos Locos Tacos, so I indulge him). Then Andy's off for some target practice, unless it's Downton Abbey night. He's got a thing for that diamond-in-the-rough, Daisy. After a nightly Skype session with his mom, Andy settles in with some light reading, maybe a policy paper on banking (did you know the Secret Service falls under the Treasury Department?!) or the latest issue of Uncanny X-Men. Then it's time for some ZZZ's to get ready to do it all over again!

Well, I hope you enjoyed today's Day In the Life feature. And I hope Andy did, too. He won't tell me directly, but I bet he'll use a codename to let me know how much he loved it in the comments. Until next time!
