Hi there, Skipaholics! Sorry I haven't posted to the ol' bloggin' machine in a while. Things have been pretty hectic ever since I made the transition from full-time college student to freelance thinker and bon vivant. But here's what's awesome: I am living in the actual White House - at least for now, and hopefully forever. Also, it's amazing how many more people are checking out my blog now that my dad is president. But as I was telling the British Prime Minister and the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders and Stephen Hawking: I am not going to let fame change me, okay?
Anyhoo, these days I'm sleeping in the Lincoln Bedroom even though Abe never slept there which was such a letdown I nearly fell down and died of disappointment. Because I thought I was sleeping where President Lincoln once slept and was like, "Mary Todd, quit hogging the blankets, it's cold and there's a war on." But then I found out that even though Abraham Lincoln never slept in my bed, you know who did? Steven Spielberg. Of the cinema. Spielberg! He's lying there, thinking about slowly zooming in on a child's face to capture humanity's natural sense of wonder. Also Winston Churchill slept there too, but you guys, Spielberg!
Okay, I gotta run, but I promise I'm going to post more often now, and let you know what's been going down at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, without the "filter" or "control" or "common sense" of the White House staff. It's just a connection between me and you, all of us just trying to make our way in this crazy world. I miss you already.
Much love,
Skip
